Although there has been a decrease in coast guard callouts, the Crown Prince has required all officers to be evaluated and undergo training exercises.
The evaluation will determine the merit and utility of officers to enable a reshuffle of responsibilities, the law says.
Crown Prince BritishWanderer II said it was important to maintain defensive capabilities even during peacetime.
If any officer shirks the requirement, they will be terminated immediately.
“The coast guard is our greatest asset in securing Pavia’s domestic safety as well as providing a strong international presence”, the head of the coast guard, his grace Cissonius the Duke of Braemar, said.
“It is important that through standard yet rigorous physical, mental and aptitude tests that we ensure those that serve in the coast guard are able to best represent the mission of security we set out on.”
“We will ensure those currently serving are up to the standard Pavia expects from its coast guard as we strive for excellence.”
The coast guard would not comment on national security grounds when asked what training would be offered to its officers or how they would be evaluated.
“We will look across all metrics of the tests to ensure the safety of applicants and those currently serving”, a spokesperson said.
The evaluation requirement follows the government allowing all citizens to view surveillance information.
